Employee Experience and Well-being are top priorities for Businesses looking at Reimagining their Workplace: Infosys Study

Infosys unveiled a global research report on the state of digital workplace readiness and the evolving priorities of workplace strategy titled ‘A Workplace that Works: Impacts of shifts in the digital, physical, and cultural landscape.’ The research reveals that digital transformation will have the largest impact on workplace transformation. It further highlights the large-scale efforts needed to reimagine workplaces as part of enterprises transformation strategies during the pandemic.

The survey was conducted by the Infosys Knowledge Institute (IKI), a research arm of Infosys, with over 1,000 respondents from companies representing multiple industries across U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand, with revenues of more than $1 billion. The study offers a detailed view into the digital, physical, and cultural transformation sweeping across organizations and how the speed of decision making on workplace transformation initiatives has increased. It also provides perspectives on companies making new investments to improve security, connectivity, and collaboration. Further, it looks at other areas such as learning, reskilling, and process automation to keep the employees engaged and motivated, while driving productivity and efficiency.

The key findings from the survey are as follows:

  • 55 percent of companies believe that digital transformation will significantly impact workplace modernization; 51 percent view choosing the right technology or solution as the common concern
  • Cybersecurity and data security remain the top priority for 67 percent of companies
  • Businesses plan to increase investments in connectivity (63 percent) and collaboration (49 percent) to enable their increasingly hybrid workplaces
  • 53 percent of companies believe some job will permanently shift to remote working, 46 percent plan to implement a flexible, hybrid workforce
  • 83 percent of the companies say continuous learning, hiring, and building a digital-savvy workforce will be crucial to cope with the shift in cultural initiatives
  • 55 percent of companies have employee well-being policies built into their workplace strategies
  • 68 percent of the companies see enhanced employee experience as the key benefit of workplace transformation; 52 percent believe it offers more flexibility to employees
